Alzette Prins

Alzette Prins has a BA Fine Arts and a BA Honours degree from the University of Stellenbosch. During the course of her studies her brochure design for the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre's Summer Program won a SPAA award (New York 1991).

Since 1995 she has been working as a freelance illustrator for local educational and trade publishing houses on illustration projects ranging from educational readers to children's picture books. Her editorial illustrations also appear in a variety of publications.

Abroad, her illustrations have been commissioned by 'My Table Magazine' (Texas), William M. Mercer (New York) and Harcourt Educational (Oxford). She also worked as a faux artist for an interior design firm in Houston.

"My work is rendered in styles ranging from realistic to atmospheric to conceptual; using a variety of mediums such as line and wash, scraperboard, oils and acrylic."
